Clinical supervision for reflective, developing practice

Online supervision for therapists and practitioners in training or the early years of qualified practice, held within a clear clinical and ethical frame.

Clinical supervision offers a dedicated space to reflect, think carefully, and remain ethically grounded in work that carries emotional weight, uncertainty, and responsibility.

I offer clinical supervision for practitioners who are developing their practice and seeking a contained, thoughtful space to explore clinical material, professional identity, and the realities of working with complexity. Supervision is held with attention to boundaries, risk, and reflective thinking, rather than performance or technique.

This offer is particularly suited to trainees and newly qualified practitioners, and is delivered online, allowing continuity and accessibility while maintaining a consistent supervisory relationship.

Who is supervision for

This supervision offer is intended for practitioners who are developing their clinical practice and seeking a reflective, ethically grounded supervisory relationship.

It is particularly suited to trainees and newly qualified practitioners, including those working toward qualification or in the early years of independent practice, who are navigating the transition from learning to professional responsibility.

Supervision may be helpful for practitioners who are:

  • Working with complex or emotionally demanding clinical material

  • Developing confidence in clinical judgement and boundaries

  • Seeking space to reflect on professional identity and role

  • Holding uncertainty, doubt, or ethical questions in their work

  • Looking for a supervisory relationship that prioritises thinking and containment over technique or performance

While this offer is shaped primarily with developing practitioners in mind, enquiries from others seeking a reflective supervisory space are considered on an individual basis, with attention to clinical fit and appropriateness.

How supervision is held

Supervision is held as a reflective, containing space in which clinical material, professional experience, and uncertainty can be explored thoughtfully and without pressure to perform.

The supervisory relationship prioritises careful thinking, ethical awareness, and attention to boundaries. Sessions are not used to provide instruction, assessment, or solutions, but to support the supervisee’s own capacity to reflect, develop judgement, and tolerate complexity in their work.

Attention is given to the emotional impact of clinical practice, the demands of working within systems, and the developing sense of professional identity. Supervision is paced and held with sensitivity to where the supervisee is in their training or early professional journey.

Online format and boundaries

Supervision is delivered online, providing continuity and consistency while maintaining a clear clinical frame and professional boundaries.

Sessions take place in a confidential, uninterrupted setting and are held with the same attention to containment, ethics, and responsibility as in-person supervision. The online format supports accessibility and regularity, without reducing the depth or seriousness of the supervisory work.

Clear boundaries are maintained around the purpose and scope of supervision. This includes attention to confidentiality, safeguarding considerations, and role clarity, ensuring that supervision remains a reflective clinical space rather than a substitute for training, assessment, or personal therapy.

Professional standards and governance

All supervision is offered within a clear professional and ethical framework and is informed by established standards of clinical practice.

I am an HCPC-registered Music Therapist, and supervision is held with attention to confidentiality, safeguarding responsibilities, and appropriate professional boundaries. Practice is supported by ongoing professional supervision and continuing professional development, ensuring that work remains reflective, accountable, and appropriately contained.

Supervision is offered in a way that recognises the limits of the role and does not replace training, assessment, or organisational supervision requirements.

This supervisory work is offered from a clearly defined professional position, outlined further in the About section of the site.
